M-DCPS receives $1M donation in honor of King Carter

Two Miami-Dade high schools received a $1 million donation to fund a trade program last Wednesday.

The contribution, which was gifted by an anonymous source, will be used to finance the King Carter Trade and Logistics Academy in memory of 6-year-old King Javon Carter, at Miami Northwestern and Miami Central Senior High schools.

King was shot to death in February 2016, while he was on his way to a neighborhood store to buy candy.
