Former WNBA player and mayor of Dania Beach, Tamara James, took to social media June 1 in response to the most-recent racist attack against NBA player, LeBron James.
“It’s really unfortunate that it is 2017, and racism is still a blatant part of society,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday morning. “One thing I respect about LeBron James is he’s a great role model for our youth. I can only hope his children are not affected by this.”
The day before the start of the NBA finals, an unidentified person spray-painted the N-word on the front gate of LeBron James’ Los Angeles home, according to Los Angeles police officials. Neither James nor his family was at the home at the time of the incident, May 31, but it was still a cause for alarm.
